I’d say that it is a must for every blog.So,go ahead,try it.

I really want to praise this plugin.Wordpress-recaptcha!

It keeps spams at bay!And i used it for my blog too!But there’s something interesting.

When i removed this plugin my comments rose at a rate of 200%  :-0

This means that visitors are lazy of verification.So,if you are really in need of genuine comments,rely on it!It is worth trying.But may reduce your actual number of comments.But not too much.

AntiSpamBee:

This is another plugin for wordpress which helps spam trafficking.

It eliminates  digital rubbish from your blog in a safe way.And a good thing is that you can Block comments and pings from specific countries and Automatically cleanup the spam folder.You can also Allow comments only in certain language.So,try this if you wanna filter comments on basis of languages.I faced this problem too.I should probably try this.

This plugin for tackling spam in wordpress is different from the other ones due to it’s method of usage.It is used to close comments on your old posts and prevent spams.

You can do this with wordpress by default too.But the good thing is that you can designate some posts to have comments kept open indefinitely.

So,this plugin is useful if you want to keep comments open on certain posts and closed on some other ones.If you think you may get spams for some specific posts very much,close it.

Defensio has several advantages and is not only for spam tackling.This can be used in your apps too.They say, “advanced spam filtering web service that learns and adapts to your behaviors and those of your users”.So,it works in a smart way!Using it along with other anti-spam plugins will bring problems.
